East Kootenay communities unsuccessful with Immigration Pilot Program
We regret to share that the East Kootenay region’s application to the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) Program was not successful. The program, designed to help businesses advocate for their employees and provide a fast-track to permanent residency, saw high interest nationwide, with only 15 communities selected. The successful applicants have not yet been announced.
With ongoing changes to immigration pathways, including the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and Postgraduate Work Permits, we know this remains a critical issue for local businesses.
We will continue to monitor future announcements and advocate for solutions that meet the needs of our business community and newcomers. For those seeking more information on existing programs, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada provides resources here.
Thank you for your support as we navigate these challenges together.
