Fernie Workforce Housing Investment Attraction Plan
The Workforce Housing Investment Attraction Plan (The Plan) aims to deliver an investment-ready business plan to construct and operate rental housing for Fernie’s tourism, hospitality, and service-oriented workers.
In September 2025, we presented The Plan to a room full of locals, business owners, developers and investors. The presentation received a lot of interest, and we’re now reaching out to developers who have had success in the past to help solve the housing shortage. A shortage which has been identified in both the business walk and the 2025 housing needs report.

Work In Fernie Website - Job and Housing Board
The ‘WorkInFernie’ workforce attraction website is an online job and housing board created and administered by the Fernie Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Tourism Fernie. This initiative was developed by the Fernie Chamber of Commerce with seed funding provided by the Government of British Columbia in 2019.
WorkInFernie.com can be used to find a job or housing, or to post an available job or housing. The website is monitored for new listings daily, and all posts are vetted for authenticity.
