Shop Local Holiday Kickoff November 27th – 29th
The Fernie Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce “Shop Local Holiday Kickoff” in partnership with The Arts Station. This event will be running all weekend November 27th – 29th to ensure everyone is able to maintain social distance and respect business COVID-19 plans while supporting our Fernie Business Community!
As part of this event the Arts Station will have a new exhibit, Gallery in the Round and Artisan Feature. Over 40 different artists will have work on display for the perfect holiday gift. Drop by in person over the weekend or alternatively shop all the pieces online.
You will also be able to take advantage of extended shopping hours, discounts, feature cocktails and food specials from selected businesses around Fernie.
Why is this so important?
Non-profit LOCO BC commissioned U.S. research firm Civic Economics to complete a study last year into the impact of consumer spending at locally owned businesses. The study found that for every $100 spent with a BC local business, $63 is re-circulated back into the local BC economy – compared to $14 for multinational companies. This means that local businesses re-circulate 4.6 times more revenue in the local economy. By shopping local you are supporting the Fernie economy and the people within your community.
