Meet Fernie Chamber Member Fernie Cardlock! In operation since 2009, they are an unattended 24/7/365 fueling station located in the Annex. They supply not only on road gas and diesel but also off road fuel for construction and recreation such as excavators, off road premium gas for toys such as sleds or boats and small engines like snow blowers and lawnmowers.
Q: What’s one thing – industry related or not – you learned in the last month?
A: As of January first all fuel being used in BC must come from a BC terminal. So instead of the truck loading in Calgary to come to the Elk Valley it will be loaded in Kamloops, this will add 8 to 12 cents pre liter to the cost. If Rodgers pass is closed and they have to load in Calgary there will be a 25 cent per liter penalty. This measure is supposed to put less trucks on the road, reduce green house gasses.
Q: What do you love most about your industry?
A: We help people go to work and play.
Q: What is one thing people may not know about your business?
A: If you have a Visa/MC or debit card you can buy your fuel from us. If you use Debit we donate 4 cents per litre to a different local charity every month.
